Cinnamon
 Cinnamon
(Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
- An excellent choice for all skin types, cinnamon’s strong and spicy aroma also makes for an effective natural deodorant soap.
- Cinnamon has long been known to provide relief from flu, nausea, upset stomach, fatigue and depression.
- Renowned for its digestive, diuretic and antiseptic properties, cinnamon became one of the most important drugs of the Greek and Roman pharmacopoeia.
- Cinnamon is one of the oldest tonic plants on the globe. Chinese medicinal use dates back 4,700 years and early Egyptians used cinnamon in their embalming mixtures.
- It is not the fruit of this plant, but the fragrant bark that is harvested for use. The essential oil is used to perfume soaps, cosmetics, toothpastes and medicines. Cinnamon is currently produced in Ceylon, India and China.
